Effective Workplace Communication

November 13

Interested in communicating with impact, influencing your peers, and leading with clarity? Learn how to articulate your thoughts, build strong professional relationships, and excel in active listening and persuasive communication.

During this 3-hour session, you will explore what it takes to clearly and intentionally engage others in meaningful conversation. This course will transform your ability to connect, collaborate, and thrive in the modern workplace and participants will have the opportunity to practice multiple techniques that encourage dialogue between colleagues and clients.

You will learn to:
  • Explore the two-way communication model;
  • Examine the building blocks of effective communication: the attitude of empathy, non-verbal cues and body language, active listening, use of questions, and paraphrasing; and
  • Identify potential communication roadblocks.

This essential workshop is highly recommended in conjunction with other Engaged courses and is a mandatory requirement for “The Art of HR” Certificate Program. Join us to unleash your communication prowess and accelerate your professional success.

The course fee varies between $99 and $149 depending on the ticket type.

This course will take place on November 13, 2024, between 9 am – 12 pm (PST, Vancouver).

What our learners experienced.

Stuart Holder  /  LIFT Community Services

“The Art of HR is such a well-put-together training. It allowed me to feel connected with a small, manageable group, who are experiencing similar challenges to myself. Engaged’s team of experts facilitated a coordinated solutions-based approach. I found them to be very knowledgeable in their specialist areas. The certificate has allowed me to advance my skills in HR and I know this will set me up for any future HR challenges in the pipeline!”

Jessica Macdonald  /  Inuit Art Foundation

“As a new manager, the Art of HR courses provided a tremendous amount of knowledge on how to supervise people in both everyday and more difficult situations. The mix of lecture and activity-based courses run by the wonderful folks at Engaged gave me the tools I needed to help my team do their best work.”

Pam Prewett  /  Victoria Brain Injury Society

“Participating in the Art of HR certificate program offered by Engaged has been an enlightening and rewarding experience for me, both professionally and personally. The value these workshops have brought to my role at VBIS is truly significant.

What stood out most in these programs was their interactive format. This wasn’t just about learning from the instructors; it was an immersive experience where I could engage with and learn from other participants as well. This dynamic environment not only enriched my learning experience but also fostered a sense of community and shared growth.”

Lauren Wakefield  /  Esquimalt MFRC

“Participating in The Art of HR certificate program has been an educational, motivating, and rewarding experience. Learning from experts in their fields about the main functions of HR, best practices, tips and tricks made this experience incomparable to other HR courses I have done. Each class broke down the concepts in digestible ways and could be for someone just starting out or as a refresher and update for existing HR professionals.”
